A hidden use: although I don't (personally) find dedicated "crimping" pliers to greatly improve the technique of rolling crimps, we have found a secret use to these budget pliers!

Instead of rolling crimps, instead squish them down with standard needle nose pliers, then hide the squished crimp with a crimp cover.  These black handled "crimping" pliers work fabulously for adding the crimp cover - pop the crimp cover into the groove of the jaws, and gently squeeze the crimping pliers down (may need to slightly turn the pliers to get a round effect, squeeze a second time to complete).

And, even better, these handy pliers are currently on sale for $3 each (were $15).

This newsletter is coming to from the far flung reaches of Japan, where I've been travelling for the past few weeks. After a catch up with friends and family in southern Japan, I've been trekking across the rural island of Shikoku, complete with many temple and castle visits.  The plan is to visit some traditional pearling areas - wish me luck!

Don't despair though, in my absence the shops continue to open (I hope!) 10am - 5pm, Monday to Saturday, and the girls at Toomuc are madly packing orders in the lead up to Christmas!
