Our latest set of beading classes is now available to see on our website! Come along and join in on the fun and excitement of jewellery making, with classes available for those just starting out, to the more advanced. Class numbers are limited, so call and book into the class of your choice today. Classes are held at our shop in Cheltenham, Victoria. ***ADVANCED – $38 per person, includes purchase of your own kumihimo board and all materials***

Learn the technique involved in making this fun knotted kumihimo necklace in our 2 hour class. You will have the opportunity to improve your skills using the kumihimo wheel. In addition to practicing kumihimo, you will learn to turn loops and work with jump rings to create a section of beaded chain.

Working with tigertail, glass pearls and metal tubes, in this class you will learn how to bring three strands into one, finishing with a bead cap to keep everything neat and tidy.

Wednesday 23 August, 12:00pm – 1:30pm

Learn the technique involved in making this fun knotted kumihimo bracelet in our 1.5 hour class. You will learn to use the kumihimo wheel, a tool designed to make simple Japanese knotted bracelets with ease.

There are many different types of glass crystal beads - we stock Swarovski glass crystals, Czech glass crystal and Chinese glass crystal.

Swarovski crystals are Austrian precision cut beads that come in a wide range of colours and sizes. Because of their high quality cut and origin material, they have a shine and glitter that can't be achieved in the other crystal types. Beads are sold per piece.

Whilst Czech fire polished crystals still have a high quality finish, their shape doesn't tend to be as uniform as the Swarovski crystals, and the round beads take on a more oval shape. Beads are sold by gram.

Whilst Chinese glass crystal was once very much the inferior product, in recent years manufacturing has improved dramatically, resulting in beads that are near uniform, and with a sparkle not previously seen. We stock these beads in many colours and shapes, and this month they are on sale for $2 per strand.
